Fig Leaf Herbal Drink (Tea / Infusion)
Ingredients
- 4–5 fresh fig leaves
(or 2–3 dried fig leaves) - 1 liter (4 cups) water
- Optional additions (choose one or none):
- 1 teaspoon honey
- A slice of lemon
- A small piece of fresh ginger
Preparation
- Wash the fig leaves well
Rinse them under running water to remove dust or residue. - Cut the leaves
Tear or cut the fig leaves into medium pieces. This helps release their beneficial compounds. - Boil the water
Bring 1 liter of water to a gentle boil. - Add the fig leaves
Put the leaves into the boiling water, reduce heat, and let them simmer for 10–15 minutes. - Steep
Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the tea sit for another 10 minutes. - Strain
Remove the leaves and pour the liquid into a cup. - Optional flavoring
