The school bully mocked her in front of everyone — but he had no idea who this “quiet girl” really was…
Marcus let out a forced laugh, glancing at his friends for backup. “The Board? What are you talking about, you freak? My dad is the Board. He donated the new wing. He’ll have you expelled by lunch.”
“Actually,” Anna said, tapping a command on her screen. “Your father is the Minority Shareholder. My mother is the woman who just bought the remaining 60% of this institution’s debt. And I? I’m the ‘Independent Auditor’ she sent to see if the school was worth the investment.”
A collective gasp rippled through the gym. The phones that were recording for “clout” were now recording a literal empire crumbling.
The Arrival
The heavy double doors of the gym swung open. Principal Miller ran in, his face a shade of ghostly white. He wasn’t looking at Marcus. He didn’t even glance at the “Golden Boy.” He ran straight to Anna.
“Ms. Sterling!” the Principal panted, sweat beading on his forehead. “I am so sorry, I didn’t realize you were… I mean, we weren’t expecting the final report until Friday.”
Anna looked at the Principal, then back to Marcus, whose smirk had completely vanished.
“I have enough for the report, Mr. Miller,” Anna said, her eyes fixed on Marcus. “I have documented:
Systemic bullying ignored by faculty.
Falsified athletic records for the varsity captain.
And as of thirty seconds ago, a direct physical threat against a student representative.”
The Fall of the Golden Boy
Marcus stepped back, his face reddening. “You’re lying. You’re just the quiet girl who sits in the back of AP Chem. You’re nobody!”
